A customized peel will be developed based on patient need and applied to the skin, assessing the individual characteristics of your skin and understanding your desired end result. The entire procedure takes about 20 minutes.
A minimal amount of discomfort can be expected by the application of the peel. You may feel a tingling sensation before it is neutralized. If the warmth continues, cold compresses can be applied.
Peeling will vary from light to heavy flaking for up to a week. Avoid sun exposure, hot water or any other form of heat such as saunas or lasers for a week. Avoid exercise immediately after the peel. You may return to work after receiving the treatment. Use broad spectrum protection 30 to 50 SPF. Your skin will rejuvenate from the first treatment. A series of chemical peel sessions are recommended to treat the concern and talk to your aesthetic professional for a treatment plan. Better results come from a course of 3 treatments 4 to 6 weeks apart.
You should not receive a chemical peel if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have existing liver disease, open wounds, have an allergy to Aspirin, tomato, or milk. If you have used Isotretinoin/Accutane or received radiation therapy or chemotherapy within the past six months, you will have to wait until the full six months.
