They are a combination of small injections of neuromodulators or neurotoxins known by the brand names such as Botox, Xeomin or Dysport.
When injected into the muscle, it stops the communication between the brain and the muscle. This makes the muscle stop moving which results in a wrinkle free appearance.
It can be used in anyone with dynamic lines or wrinkles (lines and wrinkles that appear when we do certain expressions)
Crows feet (the little lines projected from the corner of the eyes when we smile), frown (the lines between the eyes also known as the eleven lines), forehead lines (the horizontal lines created by raising our eyebrows).
This will depend on how many areas you want to have done and how much you need to provide you with the desired results.
Botox was the first cosmetic neurotoxin in the market owned by Allergan. Its name is well known and it is Botulinum Toxin Type A.
Xeomin is a competitive brand developed by Merz Aesthetics. It is 10x more purified then Botox because the unnecessary protein complex has been removed from the Toxin.
Both Botox and Xeomin last 3 to 4 months and both use the same amount of units per injection site to achieve the desired results
